Singing underdogs or 'gleeks'? You decide
At William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio, the halls are alive with the sound of music. The formerly downtrodden Glee Club is working hard to realize their star potential. But is this rag tag group of high school stereotypes a bunch of singing underdogs or are they just 'gleeks'?

Fox aired the pilot episode of Glee after May's American Idol finale and will premier the season beginning Sept. 9.

Glee is the story of a wildly optimistic Spanish teacher, Will Scheuster (Matthew Morrison) attempting to revive the school's Glee Club and help its singers realize their star potential. Not only is he up against the maliciously scheming cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch), but he has to contend with the quirky and perhaps less-than-talented members of the Glee Club.

Each believe themselves to be the breakout talent, but Kurt (Chris Colfer) is better with fashion than with his soprano, Mercedes (Amber Riley) is an over-the-top diva, Artie (Kevin McHale) is a geeky guitarist and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) hides behind her stutter and blue hair.

The Glee Club's best hope? Rachel (Lea Michele) who believes that show choir is her ticket to fame and Finn (Cory Monteith) the popular school quarterback that makes every girl swoon, except his girlfriend Quinn (Dianna Agron), the head cheerleader for the ultra-competitive "Cheerios" cheer squad.

Everyone around Will Scheuster thinks he's nuts, especially his scrapbooking-addicted wife, but he's determined to make Glee great again.

Part high school comedy, part musical, Glee takes on the awkwardness of the teenage years and sets it to an outrageous soundtrack that includes hilariously overblown versions of hits like Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'", Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" combined with Broadways standards like "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat."

So, will you be cheering for the underdogs in McKinley High's Glee Club or hoping the "Cheerios" will bring down the 'gleeks' for good? Tune in and you may be singing the praises of Glee as well.
