The interweaving layers of a tattoo goddess's world
One might think of a tattoo shop as just a place where you go to get a permanent design on your skin -- but watching an episode of LA Ink shows us that besides a place of business, a shop is where friendships grow, life lessons are learned, emotions are shared, art is created and sometimes, anger and frustration flourish.

From Miami Ink came Kat Von D, taking on Los Angeles and opening her own shop called High Voltage Tattoo. Season 3 of her show, LA Ink premiered on July 9th.

Kat is known for her no-nonsense attitude and rock-n-roll looks, but her business savvy has turned her into much more than a world-renowned tattoo artist. The last year has brought her much success in additional ventures, such as a line of cosmetics at Sephora and a hit book about tattooing.

But this busy gal still finds time to pursue her original love: tattooing. This season the shop sees new challenges and therefore, new drama. While Kat learns to balance her ever-hectic schedule, the shop will see changes like the addition of new shop manager, Aubry Fisher (from Vh1's Rock of Love 2).

And of course, you'll get to see the artists work with clients to bring their tattoo concepts to life. Perhaps no other show can offer the rainbow of personalities that LA Ink can, so you're sure to connect with one of the characters. Visit http://tlc.discovery.com/tv/la-ink/la-ink.html.
